Duration:
Most students complete the program within one trimester, but you have up to two years to finish all coursework and obtain certification.

Explore the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and the Bhagavad Gita.
Theory and Practice
Learn asana, pranayama, chanting, meditation, kriyas, lifestyle, relationships, and visualization techniques.
Independent Project
Design and present a project in your area of interest to the class on commencement day.
Teaching Practice
Collaboratively design class sequences and teach them to fellow students.
Completion Requirements
Active Participation
Engage fully in all classes and activities.

Description of Modules
Module 101: Introduction to Teacher Certification
Introduction to teaching, history of yoga, basics of asana, teacher-student chant, subtle anatomy, and Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Begin teaching fellow students.
Module 102: Anatomy & Physiology
General anatomy and physiology, Five Mayas model, various yoga poses, Ayurmantra, and Bhagavad Gita introduction.
Module 103: Yoga as a Holistic System
Chakras theory and practice, Prana Agni Mala model, side bends and inversions, and course planning.
Module 104: Dynamics of Breathing
Prana, pranayama, kriya yoga theory and practice, Sun Salutation, vinyasa concept, and Gayatri mantra.
Module 105: Sequencing and Gentle Yoga
Sequencing, Yajna model, chanting in meditation or asana, and teaching a gentle or Yin yoga class.
Module 106: Advanced Pranayama and Visualization
Pranayama techniques, creating a specific atmosphere, teaching dynamic classes, visualization art, relationships, and prenatal yoga teaching advice.
Module 107: The Business of Yoga
Essentials of being a good teacher, teaching tools (essential oils, music, props), and arm balances.
Module 108: Ayurveda and Yoga
Ayurveda, arm balances, standing balances, teaching restorative/gentle classes, and reviewing Yin yoga teaching skills.
Module 109: Leading Private Classes
Leading private classes, understanding and developing student learning styles.
Module 110: Class Project Presentation and Closing Ceremony
Presentation of class projects, review of student progress, closing ceremony, distribution of completion certificates, and group celebration.
